2013-08-22 - Email issues overnight

Early this morning we had to take down the email system at Vex.Net. The account of one of our users was compromised and was being used to send spam. This was a distributed attack and was pushing hundreds of thousands of messages per hour. This can get us blocked by many systems if not caught so for the overall health of the system we shut down email until we could clear the queue.

Please take this as a reminder to make sure that your password is secure. Use hard-to-guess passwords and do not enter them into web pages unless you are sure that you are on the Vex.Net web site.
