2004.05.13 Suddenly, A New Shell Server

Looks like we pressed our luck on the old shell server too long; It has gone down tonight, in which looks like it may be hardware failure. I've decided the quickest way to get things mostly back up is to swap the new FreeBSD shell server into place immediately. This transition may be a bit rocky. A few servers are still being set up. Most things should work for most people; but a few of you may find some annoyances. For one: those running custom compiled software who didn't recompile it for this shell previously will be forced to do so now. None of this affects the web server or mail. Sorry for any inconvenience. Things will be smoothed out as quickly as possible. Report problems to support@Vex.Net.
